Installation

Unpack and inspect contents. Ensure proper location with adequate clearance.

  1. Position furnace: Place on stable, level surface with proper clearances (check specifications).
  2. Connect gas line: Use approved gas piping and fittings; pressure test for leaks.
  3. Connect electrical: Wire to dedicated circuit breaker; follow local electrical codes.
  4. Connect venting: Install proper vent pipes for combustion gases.
  5. Connect thermostat: Wire to thermostat terminals following wiring diagram.

WARNING! Installation must be performed by qualified HVAC technician. Gas leaks can cause explosion or fire.

First-Time Setup

Power on furnace; follow startup procedure.

  1. Check gas connection: Ensure gas valve is open and no leaks detected.
  2. Set thermostat: Install and program thermostat according to manufacturer instructions.
  3. Test ignition: Turn thermostat to heat mode; verify proper ignition sequence.
  4. Adjust blower speed: Set appropriate CFM for your duct system if adjustable.
  5. Verify operation: Check heat output and airflow at registers.

CAUTION! Never bypass safety controls. Ensure proper ventilation for combustion air.

Specifications

Controls and Settings

Access control board via front service panel. Thermostat controls: HEAT, COOL, FAN, TEMPERATURE settings.

Control Board: Power switch, diagnostic LEDs, dip switches for configuration, reset button.

Operating Modes: HEAT, OFF, FAN ONLY. Blower Settings: Continuous fan, auto fan. Temperature Control: Setpoint adjustment, temperature differential. Advanced Settings: Filter reminder timer, blower off delay, smart recovery (if equipped).

Connecting Thermostat

Compatible with most 24V thermostats. Standard wiring: R (power), W (heat), G (fan), C (common), Y (cool).

  1. Turn off power at circuit breaker before wiring.
  2. Remove old thermostat and label wires.
  3. Connect wires to corresponding terminals on new thermostat.
  4. Mount thermostat and restore power.
  5. Program thermostat according to manufacturer instructions.

Tip: Use compatible thermostat for full feature operation. Smart thermostats may require C-wire.

Operating Modes

Supports multiple operating modes for comfort and efficiency.

  1. Heat Mode: Primary heating operation with staged heat output.
  2. Fan Only: Circulates air without heating for air distribution.
  3. Auto Mode: Automatically switches between heating and off based on thermostat setting.
  4. Energy Saver: Reduces blower runtime and optimizes temperature swings.
  5. Vacation Mode: Maintains minimum temperature to prevent freezing.
  6. Smart Recovery: Learns heating cycle time to reach set temperature at scheduled times.

WARNING! Do not set thermostat above 80°F (27°C) for extended periods to prevent overheating.

Safety Features

Flame Rollout Switch: Shuts off gas if flame detected outside burner. High Limit Switch: Prevents overheating by shutting off burners. Pressure Switch: Ensures proper venting before ignition. Ignition Lockout: Prevents repeated ignition attempts after failures. Gas Valve Safety: Automatic shutoff if flame not detected.

Maintenance & Cleaning

Turn off power and gas before maintenance. Replace air filter monthly during heating season. Annual professional inspection recommended.

CAUTION! Never operate without filter. Keep combustion air intake clear of obstructions. Carbon monoxide detectors required in living spaces.
