Installation

Unpack and inspect all components. Ensure proper clearances and ventilation.

  1. Location selection: Choose well-ventilated area with proper clearances (24" front, 6" sides, 12" rear).
  2. Gas connection: Use approved gas piping; pressure test for leaks before connection.
  3. Electrical connection: Connect to 120V dedicated circuit; proper grounding required.
  4. Venting system: Install approved PVC vent pipes with proper slope and termination.
  5. Condensate drain: Connect to drain with proper trap and neutralizer if required.

WARNING! Installation must be performed by qualified HVAC technician. Gas leaks can cause explosion. Ensure proper ventilation to prevent carbon monoxide buildup.

First-Time Setup

Power on furnace; follow startup sequence.

  1. System check: Verify all connections secure; gas valve open; power connected.
  2. Thermostat setup: Install compatible thermostat; set to heating mode.
  3. Initial startup: System will run self-diagnostic; observe for proper ignition.
  4. Temperature calibration: Adjust temperature offset if needed in control board.
  5. Blower settings: Configure blower speeds for heating cycle.

CAUTION! Do not bypass safety devices. If furnace fails to start, check error codes and consult troubleshooting section.

Specifications

Controls and Settings

Access control board via front panel. Status lights indicate system operation.

Control Board: POWER switch, STATUS LED (green=normal, red=error), DIP switches for configuration.

Heating Settings: Temperature rise adjustment, Blower speed settings, Cycle rate adjustment. Safety: Pressure switch settings, Flame sensor sensitivity, High limit control. Diagnostic: Error code display, System reset, Test mode activation.

Connecting Components

Thermostat: Standard 2-wire connection. Humidifier: Optional 24V connection. Air cleaner: Electronic air cleaner terminals.

  1. Turn off power before making connections.
  2. Thermostat: Connect R (power), W (heat), C (common), G (fan).
  3. Accessories: Use provided terminals for humidifier or air cleaner.
  4. Verify all connections secure and properly insulated.

Tip: Use wire nuts for secure connections. Label all wires for future service.

Operating Modes

Supports heating, fan-only, and diagnostic modes.

  1. Heating mode: Thermostat calls for heat; ignition sequence begins.
  2. Fan operation: Continuous or auto mode; adjustable speeds.
  3. Economy mode: Reduced operation for energy savings.
  4. Vacation mode: Maintains minimum temperature during absence.
  5. Diagnostic mode: Access via control board for system testing.

WARNING! Do not operate without proper ventilation. Monitor for unusual noises or odors.

Safety Features

Flame rollout switch: Shuts off gas if flame detected outside burner. High limit switch: Prevents overheating. Pressure switches: Ensure proper venting. Ignition safety: Monitors flame presence.

Maintenance & Cleaning

Turn off power and gas before maintenance. Replace filter monthly during heating season.

  1. Filter replacement: Slide out old filter; insert new one with arrow toward blower.
  2. Burner cleaning: Vacuum burners annually; inspect for corrosion.
  3. Blower cleaning: Remove blower assembly; clean blades and housing.
  4. Drain system: Flush condensate trap and drain lines.

CAUTION! Gas valve must be off during maintenance. Wear safety glasses when cleaning.
