Installation

Unpack and inspect contents. Ensure proper floor clearance and ventilation.

  1. Position furnace: Place on level floor surface with adequate clearance from combustibles.
  2. Connect gas supply: Use approved gas piping; apply pipe joint compound to threaded connections.
  3. Install venting: Connect flue pipe to vent connector; ensure proper draft.
  4. Electrical connection: Connect to 120V AC power source.
  5. Thermostat wiring: Connect thermostat according to wiring diagram.

WARNING! Installation must be performed by qualified technician. Gas leaks can cause explosion. Follow all local codes.

First-Time Setup

Complete installation checks before initial startup.

  1. Gas pressure test: Check for leaks using soap solution; no bubbles should appear.
  2. Ventilation check: Ensure proper draft and air supply for combustion.
  3. Pilot lighting: Follow ignition procedure in operating instructions.
  4. Thermostat calibration: Set desired temperature; verify furnace cycles on/off properly.
  5. Blower adjustment: Set blower speed for optimal air flow.

CAUTION! Never operate without proper ventilation. Carbon monoxide hazard exists.

Specifications

Controls and Settings

Access controls via front panel or thermostat. Main controls: Gas valve, thermostat, blower switch, pilot assembly.

Gas Valve: ON/OFF positions, pilot setting. Thermostat: Temperature setting, system ON/AUTO. Blower Control: Manual/Auto settings. Pilot Assembly: Electronic igniter, flame sensor.

Temperature Settings: Adjust via thermostat (typically 60°F-85°F range). Blower Settings: AUTO (thermostat controlled) or MANUAL continuous operation. Pilot Light: Electronic ignition with safety lockout.

Connecting Gas Supply

Use approved gas piping materials. Natural gas: 7" WC pressure. Propane: 11" WC pressure.

  1. Shut off main gas supply before connecting.
  2. Use pipe joint compound on threaded connections.
  3. Install sediment trap in gas line before furnace connection.
  4. Pressure test all connections before operation.
  5. Check for leaks with soap solution.

Tip: Always use two wrenches when making gas connections to avoid damaging pipes.

Operating Instructions

Normal heating operation procedure.

  1. Set thermostat to desired temperature above room temperature.
  2. Gas valve should be in ON position.
  3. Furnace will automatically ignite when thermostat calls for heat.
  4. Blower will start after heat exchanger reaches operating temperature.
  5. When thermostat is satisfied, gas valve closes and blower continues until heat exchanger cools.
  6. For shutdown: Turn thermostat to lowest setting or OFF position.

WARNING! Never attempt to repair gas components yourself. Contact qualified technician.

Maintenance Procedures

Regular maintenance ensures safe and efficient operation.

  1. Monthly: Check vent system for obstructions.
  2. Seasonal: Clean burners and heat exchanger surfaces.
  3. Annual: Professional inspection of heat exchanger, gas valve, safety controls.
  4. Filter: Replace or clean air filter every 1-3 months during heating season.
  5. Blower: Lubricate motor bearings annually if required.

CAUTION! Turn off gas and electrical power before performing any maintenance.

Care & Cleaning

Exterior: Wipe with damp cloth. Interior: Vacuum dust and debris annually. Burners: Clean with soft brush. Heat Exchanger: Professional cleaning recommended.

CAUTION! Do not use water or chemical cleaners on internal components. Keep area around furnace clear of combustible materials.
